Sweater weather is almost here!

It's almost time to break out our handmade sweaters! If you are in need of ideas for new a sweater to knit or crochet, stop by the shop and I'll help you choose a pattern and yarn to make a garment to keep you warm this winter 😊

    October 11-13; Madtown Yarn Shop Hop! Come shop at your favorite local yarn shops and farms during this annual shop hop around Wisconsin's capitol city! Here at Kaleidoscope Fibers during the hop, you'll find a pop-up shop from Broken Fences Farm. Local shepherd Ashley Weiser has a variety of natural fiber yarns made from her sheep, alpacas and angora goats. She'll be at the shop from 1-3pm on Saturday 10/12 to talk about her fiber animals with you! I'll also be making a special stitch marker for all attendees, having a shop-hop sale on kits, and door prizes each day! See all participating shops at www.madtownyarn.com

    October 14, vending at the Madison Knitters'Guild! Barnwood Events Center, 3230 Larsen Rd, Fitchburg; doors open at 5pm!

    November 2, 9. 16, 23, 9-10:30am Learn to Crochet Class with Patti! Have you seen all of the cool, cute crocheted things that are out in the world now?! Patti is here to teach you how to crochet, starting with the very basics. Each Saturday you will review the skill you learned the week before, learn a new skill, and leave with homework! This class is geared towards absolute beginners, so if you've been itching to learn crochet, here's your chance! Class is limited to 6 people.

    November 7, 14, 21 4:30-6:30pm, Knit a Stranded Hat! Have you always wanted to learn to do colorwork knitting? A hat is a great place to start! Techniques needed before starting the class: Must be able to knit, purl and do decreases in the round. I will teach you options for handling knitting with two colors in one row of knitting, how to trap your floats, how to read a knitting chart, and other techniques involved in stranded knitting. Class is limited to 6 people.
