Want to knit a pair of the warmest, most wind-proof mittens you've ever owned? Come take this class! Thrums are little pieces of roving that are knit into your mitten as you make it. On the outside of the mitten, the roving will appear like little hearts. On the inside, the roving will felt together, keeping your hands nice and cozy in the winter weather. I've knit a couple of pairs over the years, they are my go-to mittens for snow-shoveling!
Skills needed prior to class: intermediate knitter with knowledge of how to: knit, purl, increase, decrease.
Skills learned: making thrums, knitting with thrums, knitting a mitten in the round.
Classes are: Thursday October 19, 4:30-6:30pm; Friday October 20, 1-3pm; Thursday November 2, 4:30-6:30pm; Friday November 3, 1-3pm. You can come to as many classes as you like! You can also stop by any time on Wednesdays for Help Day if you need additional help between scheduled classes.
